Beginning in 1998, as the President and founder of Roy Matheson and Associates Inc. (RMA), Roy led the development of two highly respected certification programs in ergonomic evaluation and functional capacity evaluation. The September 28, 2009 release of INDERGARD v. GEORGIA-PACIFIC CORPORATION by the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit (No. 08-35278), was a turning point in Roy’s career. He then began a study of the impact of the amended Americans with Disabilities Act on the future of employment testing services (i.e., functional capacity evaluation and post-offer employment testing) under the de facto rules promulgated by emerging Federal case law. That study continues today through Reasonable Accommodation, LLC, where Roy offers high-level educational opportunities in such subjects as Essential Functional Job Analysis, Reasonable Accommodation, and Tools for Employers in ADA Title I. He also shares his insight into the world of Title I through monthly webinars and weekly blog postings. Roy is currently a member of the Mid-Atlantic ADA Leadership Network (ADA-LN) and is in enrolled in the ADA Coordinator Training Certification Program (ACTCP) through the University of Missouri-College of Human and Environmental Sciences, School of Architectural Studies and the Great Plains ADA Center.
