Richard Sternadori holds a MEd in Counseling Psychology with a focus on rehabilitation and disabilities from the University of Missouri (MU), with a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor accreditation. Richard is an Instructor and doctoral student in the MU College of Environmental Sciences, Dept. Of Architecture. He is the Principle Investigator for accessibility research and a teacher for the MU Great Plains Disability ADA Center. Previously, Richard was a Chief Building Official for 16 years, garnering 13 Code certifications and two state licenses. Richard chaired the ICBO Contractor Licensing committee, which established licensing examinations used today in all 50 states for contractors. The ICBO also awarded him twice for his leadership of the Western Kansas chapter. Governor Joan Finney appointed Rich to the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions, which oversees state licensing, education and regulations for architects, engineers and surveyors. He is the liaison between the ADA Centers and the ICC, and directs accessible design education for the ADA National Symposiums.
