5E Public Rights-of-Way: Part 1

The proposed Guidelines for Pedestrian Facilities in the Public Right-of-Way address accessibility of pedestrian facilities such as sidewalks, shared use paths, and other elements located in the public right-of-way. This session will include an update of the current status of the rulemaking process and a discussion of the basic obligations of States and local agencies to make their facilities accessible. The guidelines for pedestrian access routes within sidewalks and shared use paths and for curb ramps and street crossings will be presented.
